Heel Turn Checklist (to be practiced at a wall or counter top)

  1. Step three of a heel turn is Toe-Heel
  2. Keep the heel of the closing foot on the floor all the way in to the close
  3. Turn with the feet apart and close at the end of the turn. Do not turn with the feet together.
  4. The turn starts on the ball of the back foot, but is mostly on the heel of the back foot.
  5. Raise the hip of the closing foot in order to close the foot.

  1. 1-3 Natural Turn

The follower has 2 ½ brushes.

The leader leads her to PP by “leaving” her. He moves ahead of her, resulting in her turning to PP.

Practice rolling to and from PP, and sliding to and from outside partner.
