Group 2: NST (SQQ SSS), 2-8 Overturned V6 (QQS SQQS), Quick Open Reverse (SQQ),
Four Quick Run (SQQQQS)
The Technique of Sway and Rise
- Tango has more rise than VW, therefore Quickstep figures counted SQQ or QQS should stay level also.
- Don’t make room for your legs. Stay low and free in the legs.
- Follower’s head turns to the right on the Running Finish, V6 and Quick Open Reverse, but only if the earns it by producing enough sway in the base.
- Foxtrot is the only dance with sway on every figure.
- Create a hierarchy of rise: Waltz has the most, VW least. Foxtrot and three-step figures of Quickstep are similar.
- It is posture and frame which determine the finalists. Strong/supported, but flexible at all times.
Latin
- The definition of “grounded” is keeping pressure in the balls of both feet at all times.
